Are you avoiding to smile due to missing some or all of your teeth? We, at BMC Family Dentistry, are proud to offer comfortable, natural-looking dentures to replace your missing teeth and enhance your quality of life. We are all about helping you look, feel, and smile your best!

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are removable dental prosthetic devices used as replacements for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They can be full or partial dentures, meaning they can replace some or all your teeth. Regardless of the type of dentures you require, you will receive quality oral appliances custom designed to fit your mouth comfortably and to enhance your smile.

Types of Dentures

Conventional Full Dentures: Before placing your restoration in your mouth, we may need to remove any remaining teeth. We will outfit you with your denture after waiting for the tissue to heal, which may take several months.

Immediate Full Dentures: We will first take measurements and prepare your denture, then position it in your mouth immediately after removing any remaining teeth. Your denture will likely require relining and adjustments several months after being inserted because the jawbone reshapes during healing, causing the restoration to become loose.

Partial Dentures: Partial dentures are removable alternatives to bridges. You partial denture will sit on a metal framework or crowns attached to your natural teeth.

Why Wear Dentures?

Dentures offer viable solutions to restore missing teeth or to replace teeth that are causing severe pain or oral issues. Your restorations work to improve the appearance of your smile and support the structure of your mouth. Dentures instantly make your features look fuller, giving you a younger appearance. You will be able to chew food, speak clearly, and smile with confidence once again.

Getting Used To Dentures

New dentures may feel awkward and a little uncomfortable for the first few weeks. Adjusting to them is all about patience. You will need to practice chewing and speaking with clarity. The muscles of your cheeks and tongue will soon learn to hold your denture in place. You may opt to use dental adhesives for added confidence and security. If soreness or discomfort persists, make sure to return to our office for an adjustment.
